ASTO - Spring Summer 23

The collection embarks on a captivating journey through space and time, paying homage to the diverse landscapes, space and realms we travel while hinting at our timeless connection to these lands. The guiding design philosophy behind this collection is space and the galaxies of stars that make patterns, it is the deconstruction of the iconic MAXHOSA patterns and monogram, elevating them into standalone motifs. This approach involves the meticulous curation of patterns from the universe of patterns, assembling a galaxy of smaller design elements to compose each garment. Moreover, the collection incorporates the artful fusion of artefacts, seamlessly integrating them as embellishments on the pieces. Overall, this collection offers a fresh, three-dimensional perspective on the classic MAXHOSA patterns, breathing new life into an iconic motif. ‘We are going to space in style and it’s not the first time. We’ve been going to space for centuries.
