MaXhosa Africa is seeking an experienced, vibrant and proactive Assistant Store Manager to be based at our New York Pop-up store. This is a 6 months part-time contract.

ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER

Responsibilities (but not limited to): 

• Supervise and train staff on relevant systems e.g. Yoco, Shopify, POS (Point of Sales) etc. 
• Review staff performance and offer constructive feedback. 
• Collaborate with team leads on setting and achieving team-specific goals. 
• Motivate for inventory based on current trends, availability of new products and customer interest. 
• Display merchandise to maximize purchasing appeal. 
• Organise sales and product demonstrations. 
• Write sales and customer reports and make recommendations for improvements. 
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints or grievances. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead staff, help customers and work with upper management. 
• Great customer service skills, including patience and active listening, to ensure customers feel heard and helped. 
• Presentation skills knowledge of best marketing display practices. 
• Conflicts management skills to resolve customer issues effectively and ensure efficiency on teams. 
• Good time management skills to set realistic deadlines and follow specific steps to reach time-sensitive objectives. 
• In-depth knowledge of the store’s merchandise, it exact location and its prices.

Store Location: 325 Canal Street, New York, 10013. 

Minimum working hours: 30 hours a week.

Minimum rate per hour: $19,00

Desired Experience & Qualification: 

• Having in-depth knowledge and experience in retail (preferable). 
• Completed matric and Relevant qualification in retail. 
• High level of creativity. 
• Ability to work well under pressure. 
• Time management. 
• Fashion forward, aware and trend enthusiast.
